PARIS, Oct 11 (Reuters) - France should seek more European Union funds for its green transition, Energy Minister Agnes Pannier-Runacher told a news conference, noting that other countries were better at doing so.

The French government delivered its 2025 budget on Thursday with plans for 60 billion euros ($65.5 billion) worth of spending cuts and tax hikes on the wealthy and big companies to tackle a spiralling fiscal deficit.

Pannier-Runacher said France must avoid making polluting energy solutions cheaper than decarbonized ones, which meant tackling certain historic advantages to fossil energy.

This must be done in a balanced way so as not to destabilise the system, she added.
