SANTIAGO, Jan 14 (Reuters) - Chilean state-run miner Codelco said on Wednesday it had received environmental approval to extend the life of its Ministro Hales copper mine until 2054, a project that will require an investment of $2.8 billion.
The world's largest copper producer said the initiative will allow the mine to increase production to 200,000 tons per year, up from the current 170,000 tons.
