MEXICO CITY, Jan 21 (Reuters) - Mexico's economy likely expanded 2.3% in December from the same month a year earlier, a preliminary estimate from national statistics agency INEGI showed on Wednesday.

Compared with the previous month, activity was likely up 0.2%, the agency added.
